  FreeBSD is interesting and quite useful.  I remember installing it on
  a Dell desktop with three 250-Gb drives (considered huge at the time)

  Have a look at https://iep.utm.edu/chinese-room-argument/ if you're
  worried about AI.  ChatGPT made it easier for kids to write papers and
  "devs" to write crappy stackoverflow answers with *zero* thought or effort.

  If you have a good backup and your machine isn't actually on fire,
  you can recover.  Don't be scared to experiment.
