With the shell option in the partitioning dialogue: 

* an immediate exit leads to errors, that's expected

* bsdinstall partedit (the on-screen hint) is interactive manual, 
  UFS by default, with limited help

* bsdinstall autopart "defaults to UFS", I cannot see how to 
  use the autopart target with non-default ZFS. 

In the absence of a partitioning target (for the partitioning dialogue), it
might be useful to have an additional on-screen hint for the zfsboot target of
bsdinstall(8), however …
