https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=289381 Bug ID: 289381 Summary: 15.0 Release Notes - status? Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Website Assignee: doc@FreeBSD.org Reporter: erichanskrs@gmail.com Without any context, https://www.freebsd.org/releases/15.0R/relnotes/ could be misinterpreted as: "The official 15.0-RELEASE is here!" Comparing it with for example https://www.freebsd.org/releases/14.3R/relnotes/ I cannot deduce that 15.0-RELEASE is not an official sanctioned release version, whereas 14.3-RELEASE _is_ an official sanctioned release version. In a manner similar like: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-stable/2025-September/003112.html QUOTE A list of changes since 14.0 is available in the 15.0 release notes: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/15.0R/relnotes/ Please note, the release notes page is not yet complete, and will be updated on an ongoing basis as the 15.0-RELEASE cycle progresses. QUOTE_END it seems like a good idea to highlight its status (provisionary?) and add a link to the scheduled time table: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/15.0R/schedule/ One of the noted changes that will take effect starting with a supported FreeBSD 15 is the reduced support duration from 5 down to 4 years, as was announced on 11 Jul 2024 in https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-announce/2024-July/000143.html It seems like a good idea to integrate that (and perhaps other items of that email message) into: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/15.0R/relnotes/ Eric -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.home | help
