https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=291246 Bug ID: 291246 Summary: bsdinstall(8): missing option to configure static ip address Product: Base System Version: 15.0-RELEASE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: lukas.engelhardt@gmx.de FreeBSD-15.0-RC4-amd64-disc1.iso misses the option to configure static ip address when installing freebsd. When installing with distribution sets or packages (via Network) the installer gives the option to choose a network interface, after that step it does not ask to use static ip or dhcp. It directly tries to get an ip address via dchp. If that fails after some time it asks for dns server, but there will be no option to configure the ip address manually. I would prefer a dialog box after choosing the interface, that asks if you want to use dhcp or static ip. I would love to see this in 15-Release, if possible.
