            Bug ID: 291765
Summary: freebsd-update ignores ERRATA kernel update - only
                    updates userland
           Product: Base System
           Version: 15.0-CURRENT
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: rob2g2-freebsd@bitbert.com

I wanted to update due to FreeBSD-EN-25:19.zfs and FreeBSD-EN-25:20.vmm.

"freebsd-update fetch && freebsd-update install && shutdown -r now". After a
reboot, "freebsd-version -kru" prints

15.0-RELEASE
15.0-RELEASE
15.0-RELEASE-p1

Also "uname -a" prints "FreeBSD log 15.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 15.0-RELEASE
releng/15.0-n280995-7aedc8de6446 GENERIC amd64" - so no kernel update.

On another system, the same behaviour - updates were fetched and installed, but
only userland it seems.

[root@log /root]# freebsd-update fetch

[root@log /root]# freebsd-update install

Interestingly, on my testsystem which uses pkgbase I updated and after the
reboot, "uname -a" prints "FreeBSD vmfreebsd 15.0-RELEASE-p1 FreeBSD
15.0-RELEASE-p1 releng/15.0-n280999-7bceec30b351 GENERIC amd64"

I did get the kernel update on the pkgbase-system: "freebsd-version -kru"
prints:
15.0-RELEASE-p1
15.0-RELEASE-p1
15.0-RELEASE-p1
