https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=293935 Bug ID: 293935 Summary: MINIMAL kernel configuration can not boot from ZFS any more while GENERIC can Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: rz-rpi03@h-ka.de Created attachment 268949 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=268949&action=edit A failed boot with a MINIMAL kernel configuration. Hello, somewhere between FreeBSD 16.0-CURRENT main-n284480-9a9f93bcf1aa and CURRENT of today the MINIMAL kernel configuration lost its ability to boot from ZFS. The GENERIC kernel configuration boots from ZFS just fine. As I use a kernel configuration based on MINIMAL for my VMs it took me some time to realize that GENERIC is just fine. I managed to get a console output of a MINIMAL boot showing the following suspicious messages: link_elf_obj: symbol ZSTD_isError undefined KLD file zfs.ko - could not finalize loading The full console output is attached.
