https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=294123 Bug ID: 294123 Summary: DNS-client : Address family for hostname not supported | multiple DNS IPs Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: mikhail.rokhin@gmail.com Recently, after moving to 16-Current, `ntp` started to message: "error resolving pool xxx.freebsd.pool.ntp.org: Address family for hostname not supported". `ping`ing the names shows the same error. But `nslookup` shows inavailabilty through the 1st DNS-server and avail. through the next DNSs . In my case: 8.8.8.8 1.1.1.1 9.9.9.9 ... Looks like DNS-client fails to roulette the list of DNS IPs after first failure automatically. DHCP-client catches the whole list of DNS IPs successfully. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.home | help
