https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=294781 Bug ID: 294781 Summary: bsdinstall: setting a root password containing backslashes does not work Product: Base System Version: 15.0-STABLE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: khorben@FreeBSD.org The `rootpass` bsdinstall script escapes backslashes when reading parsing the output of bsddialog(1). They should be taken verbatim instead, as the resulting password set does not match the user's intended input. A fix is known and already prepared. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.home | help
