https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=295986 Bug ID: 295986 Summary: bge: for vnet jails, ifconfig -txcsum is required Product: Base System Version: 14.3-STABLE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: dvl@FreeBSD.org In order for DNS to work in a vnet jail, `ifconfig -txcsum` is required Background: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/broadcom-nic-leads-to-vnet-jails-being-unable-to-make-dns-requests.101534/ The URL contains my jail configuration. I apologize: I have not yet tried to create a simpler test case. If the jail uses unbound on the host for DNS, DNS works. If the jail uses an off-host solution (e.g. my gateway), DNS does not work. When configured to use off-host DNS, and it is failing, the following change to the cloned NIC allows DNS to work: `sudo ifconfig epair47a -txcsum` I'm happy to create a more simple solution and test. The host is question is not used for anything else at the moment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.home | help
