OK, I'm seriously stuck. I have searched every resource exhaustively, found bits and pieces, but not what I'm after. This is *honestly* my last resort. I have a HighPoint RocketRAID 454 with two Western Digital 200GB disks (I was hoping to boot FBSD off of these). I've setup a RAID 1 array under the bios utility program, and ran the FreeBSD 5.4 installer. I remember seeing two different disks (ad4, ad6) when it came to formatting/partitionning but I thought nothing of it. Until of course, I wanted to see if there was a way, other than rebooting, to check the RAID 1 status. I started reading through atacontrol(8) and found that I could use 'atacontrol status ar0' which gave me: atacontrol: ioctl(ATARAIDSTATUS): Device not configured I do not see anything in my dmesg relating to ar0 being up and running, and displaying the sub-disks which would explain why atacontrol would be giving me that error message. However, I do see that the RAID card, and the two disks, ad4, ad6, have been detected properly. I will attach my dmesg output below. Thank you in advance.
