In general Xorg seems to work better. The problem he is having is that the "via" xorg driver won't work for the onboard VIA S3 UniChrome (KM400, CLE266, etc. chipsets). It's (the via driver) the correct driver, so it should work. Also it doesn't work in FreeSIBE 1.1 (FreeBSD 5.2ish?). It only seems to work with XFree86, I'm not sure though if he tried it with an Xorg based Linux distro to see if it was a FreeBSD problem or an Xorg problem.
