Is it possible to do the console thingie not with a null modem serial cable but with a usb cable ? When you do the serial console, it means that you have a screen like it was the other pc's screen, right ? With boot messages and everything, able to do whatever you want like your keybord and screen was connected to the serial server itself right ?help
