You implied that you're using the font server. (Usually not needed, but maybe for TT, I dont know.) If so, I guess that you list the TT font dirs in "/etc/X11/fs/config" in the "catalogue" [sic] variable. Someone said to put your fonts in a directory. You might also need to run some program to generate an X-compatible index file for them.
