I also "maintain" make(1) but people are free to commit to it where
appropriate.  Same thing for any of my ports and addport as well.

You need to stop being so damn pedantic about that bit.  If every
maintainer of the ports tree got up in tight panties about their ports
being touched during DISTNAME->PORTNAME/VERSION and other various
changes that modified *every single port in the tree*, why, we'd be in
bloody hell by now.

The point is, private email would accomplish a lot more in your favor,
like respect for your code.

I think we've discussed this stuff on the lists more than enough in the
past, to be quite honest.
