Yea, this actually replaces a mechanism that was used in pccardd that dates back about 10 or more years. When devd.conf replaced pccardd, we tried to map it as closely as possible and get rid of the (poorly named) pccard_ether script... I haven't looked into the deeper issue of the bogus error messages, or if they are bogus at all or not... Warner
