[-- Attachment #1 --] I just installed FreeBSD for the first time on a AMD 350 MHZ K6 PC. I couldn't get RedHat 7.1 to install, so decided to try FreeBSD. It installed and worked flawlessly. The amazing thing about it is that I always thought X windows was slow-- not so with FreeBSD. KDE / FreeBSD running on my 350 MHz K6 seems much more responsive and faster than my 500 MHz machine running either SuSE 7.2 or RedHat 7.1. The installation seems more difficult than necessary. The Kernel configuration did not list my 3Com Card in list of availible cards and yet everything still works. I read the installation, document and it says get rid of cards that you do not have in order to resolve confilicts. But the list did not have my card. I selected and out of luck it worked. Other than that the dialog boxes are not consistant as to when they close or how you go backwards After a few trial and errors, I finally got everything right and when I did , it is impressive.
