The first modification I made doesn't support that (as Rodney
pointed out). All my machines answer on only one IP address on a
single interface, so I didn't take any special considerations for

Yes, this is "expanded" version I sent to Rodney for his perusal.
It fits in quite nicely with the $blah_${if_name} convention used
elsewhere in /etc/netstart, although I haven't been able to try it out
on my own systems.
