Hello,

I am going to install FreeBSD 4.2 on one of my machines today. I have installed FreeBSD several times on different machines but I have a few questions.

I am going to need to run XFree86 4 (which I will install from the ports collection) and KDE 2 (which I am not planning on installing from the ports collection) on this machine, when installing FreeBSD do I need to select an X user install?

If I don't select the X user install and I install XFree86 4 and KDE 2 will everything run properly?

My primary concern is not having files from 3.3.6 hanging around that I do not need.

If this isn't the best way to accomplish this I welcome your suggestions and feedback.

Thanks in advance,

Jason Sheets
