Because it's not released yet, so it's a beta ;)

This is something that I thought slobomax was working on.

Ditto.  We also have TYA as another JIT.

Yes, that would be great.

Since /usr/local/jdk1.X.X/docs is where we put the 1.1.8 docs, I'd
prefer to keep them together.  However, all the rest of the docs for the
other java ports put them under /usr/local/share/java/XXXX

I can see benefits to each.  I *personally* would prefer the share
directory becuase they would all be in the same place.

I don't have one, but it looks like the Makefiles from the
/usr/ports/java/jdk and /jre are the ones that create it.

The best way would be for you to send a Problem Report with it
(instructions in the Handbook), and let us know.  We'll test it, and
commit it.  You can put it in both directories with the "CATEGORIES=
java www" tag
