Yeah, I appreciate that it doesn't work for OpenBSD or NetBSD, but it
sounds like it's doing exactly the right thing on FreeBSD.  Under
FreeBSD if you boot the kernel directly from boot2 then it doesn't
load the symbol table and you get missing symbols from libkvm at
runtime for things like top and vmstat.
