How did you do the install? My quad G5 is in a screaming fan loop right
now. The installer seems to boot up fine to a point where sata devices
are being discovered. Then the screaming fans begin.

OKay. So what you are saying is that the beta2 is broken still on these
old machines.  Got it.

I will try :

    set debug.rman_debug=1
    set debug.verbose_sysinit=1
    set usefdt=1

and then boot -v per Bug 238730 which was "fixed".

At this point the only option is to hit the power button and give
a try at some boot options. Just for the sake of trying.
