My gateway to the internet is an Aironet 340 with PCI interface and a 24db
"fruit basket" antenna.  I'm hitting an omni antenna on a large cement
silo about 3.5 miles/5 km away without an amplifier.  Typical throughput
is about 1 mpbs.
