I noticed a brief lag when I updated from 5.1-RELEASE to 5.1-CURRENT a few weeks ago. A workaround (worked for me, at least -- I have a CT5880-E) is to switch the XMMS output to ESD. I thought it might just have to do with dynamically allocating vchans or something, so I promptly forgot about it until now. Perhaps XMMS isn't "playing" with vchans properly but ESD does? Just some rambling -- maybe it'll help... Jon Noack -- Doing linear scans over an associative array is like trying to club someone to death with a loaded Uzi. - Larry Wall
