I think the changed wording implies that we no longer provide compatibity with unsupported branches. I agree that we might in future decide to remove COMPAT_FREEBSDx for unsupported x but until then, I'd prefer wording along the lines of: "A GENERIC kernel will include suitable compatibility options to run binaries from older branches. Note that the ability to run binaries from unsupported branches is not guaranteed." --=20 Peter Jeremy --zhXaljGHf11kAtnf Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQKTBAEBCgB9FiEE7rKYbDBnHnTmXCJ+FqWXoOSiCzQFAlyGGWxfFIAAAAAALgAo aXNzdWVyLWZwckBub3RhdGlvbnMub3BlbnBncC5maWZ0aGhvcnNlbWFuLm5ldEVF QjI5ODZDMzA2NzFFNzRFNjVDMjI3RTE2QTU5N0EwRTRBMjBCMzQACgkQFqWXoOSi CzQ9/Q//alwnrCnIBEGE8YP4bvmgS/f7toPlTJx5OStjtTK0aG1uoErmO8THKzV0 jH439z1yrfi9xBhCOZvU91dTYbCFu0P8Hgswp0V741dAfjx6C3kmlmbLYtcFreaL KJfwa0ogGAy27B8XBlPCZFuqT1K6JqLAQO56KxI6Jl+rakpx2DZ4gePT+RRAofwL eIwJkEo9SOoj/Hg2avw9019ixOlj6K+JQJSEqVRfvt7BHgGT2cGBy5IvQqkXB62Q 901QXl3odMGq6j30qxmx/034V9+cEWdUSEYhGaa/41MBN20aVXvPrn5sbjRgPbDF vnAdzQ/N7lRaT6uDyJDeZbdtdaRTy+Qj5OVM8wocwfxFX3GjBNNWFc92raD3eRow IHLeCt32JR7krE0qR52byBbb8/x9MJg6qt0ELcUV7JDkSeNGnn9Wj2e5llfH6mtg KNke/YpWz7p1U/xm3EjUbBwLNA4NMJHNadmRc0jtraQ2v9v+rNb0DMp7nv3DASYp 7bBHHkEVBUjKtwtnipXa6PparAM4G19X47c0CpZ6zkLezdNGXkvF4x+HWsJlngOG MoXeyo7EB/7diBMMK9JKo0pqzD2yb+hb9Tsl6WxXdLmJEClPJO9olya+QQMaAVP7 yTCpYzBhtsnFXPEnzh5LqKaw6kAb4jY0u+qMy9Yl6untCORDoFI= =nst/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --zhXaljGHf11kAtnf--
