https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=214955 Bug ID: 214955 Summary: rpc.lockd sends spurious NLM_UNLOCKs Product: Base System Version: 10.3-RELEASE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: feld@FreeBSD.org CC: rmacklem@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 177543 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=177543&action=edit packet capture We have encountered an issue reproducible on FreeBSD 10.3 with read-only NFS mounts. FreeBSD is sending NLM_UNLOCKs when mounted read-only. This was discovered because it triggers a bug in NetApp filers where it causes the file to be truncated. We can trigger this reliably when using clamscan to scan virus samples on a readonly NFS mount. Other FreeBSD versions have not been tested, but we did not believe this happened in FreeBSD 9.3. I believe there was a lot of NFS related development between 9.0 and 10.0, but I am not sure if this bug was introduced because of those changes. Attached is a pcap showing UNLOCKs sent. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
