Hi Trawling the questions archive and with help from William I have my TP600E working fairly well on 3.4 I commented out sio2 and sio3 and the Hayes OPTIMA worked ok using sio1 The problem I had was that the TDK DF2814 seems to leave pccardd very confused if it is inserted - killing and starting pccardd is needed. So much for testing with other cards. I got the sound working using device pcm0 at isa? port 0x52C tty irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x10 as indicated in a posting to questions by Martin Dieringer a ./MAKEDEV snd0 completed that. mixer, waveplay all work fine then, but the CD player type apps are all rigged for the scsi drives and devs. Has anyone got a nicer interface to the acd device other than cdcontrol (which does work given a -f /dev/acd0 option) ? So in the end 3.4 as is with a new kernel works very well on a 600E. I have an Adaptec 1480 scsi card but that is Cardbus - that will have to wait until a 4.x release I guess. Great stuff! cheers Neil -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Neil J Long, Computing Services, University of Oxford, UK Email Neil.Long@computing-services.oxford.ac.uk Tel: +44 1865 273232 Fax: 01865-273275 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
