Here are /etc/ttys lines: ttyv9 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons30r on secure ttyva "/usr/libexec/getty.dist Pc" cons30r on secure where /usr/libexec/getty.dist is whatever came with distribution. On ttyv9 we see the banner message as expected: WinNT 5.0 == FreeBSD! (nt5.ipi.kiev.ua) (ttyv9) login: On ttyva we observe the following: \r\nWinNT 5.0 == FreeBSD!
