Right, you can ignore it.  But, M$ asked the IETF to do modifications on
the PPP setup and was turned down with valid reasons.  They ignored it
and implemented it anyway rather than doing what was suggested and
moving it to a different part of the handshake.

Sigh.. NIH strikes again...
