can you verify if you still have this problem on the 3.x branch?
Also, did you make sure you verified your sendmail.cf file to see
whether it was still up to date with the new sendmail introduced
into 3.x at that moment/at this moment?
Sendmail is supposed to be old configfile compatible, but at times
it isn't...
Also, mergemaster for merging the /etc changes might (have) be(en)
a good addition in order to ensure /etc consistency.
