There is no JDK 1.2 or JDK 1.3 for FreeBSD. You can run BETA version of 1.2 on FreeBSD under Linux emulation or compile your own ALPHA version from the source code. The latter is slower than snot - but it works for server side Java, and it is what I use. It is quite unfortunate that FreeBSD is so far behind with this key technology. If only Sun (or IBM) would release a FreeBSD port.
