Seriously? :-( There are people doing this, for themselves. But it's not a rewrite, it's porting. There are well known recent failures (not specifically on FreeBSD but of rewrites of network stacks to achieve more modern ends). Many people/companies forget this and end in a muddle. I'm a big fan of rewriting/reworking the BSD stack because I've seen it pushed to its very edges and know the difficulties but unless there is a strong goal that can be stuck to the effort is doomed from the start. > Will the dedicated work of the said guru get a high priority as far as > review and commit steps are concerned?
