Anyway, no .wav or > .au sound nor does xcd work. Any ideas? Thanks, cd /dev ./MAKEDEV snd1 should do it for you. Check mixer(1) for the volume controls. > CSN 1 Vendor ID: CSC8037 [0x3780630e] Serial 0xffffffff Comp ID: @@@0000 > [0x00000000] > mss_attach <CS4237>1 at 0x530 irq 5 dma 1:3 flags 0x13 > pcm1 (CS423x/Yamaha <CS4237> sn 0xffffffff) at 0x530-0x537 irq 5 drq 1 > flags 0x13 on isa > CSN 2 Vendor ID: BDP3336 [0x36339008] Serial 0x0f8c5050 > Comp ID: @@@0000 [0x00000000] Looks like it's probing up okay (other than your output is munged). CSN2 looks like a modem; if you add it's ID [0x36339008] to the sio driver, you can probably get it working too. Try running 'cat /bin/cat > /dev/audio'. If you get static, you're up; if you get any kernel messages, please report them. Also post the output of 'cat /dev/sndstat'.
