Subject: Length limit of mounts (80 chars?)

Hi,

There seems to be a limit on the length of mounts, which is
apparently 80 characters on i386 machines (and even only 64
characters on alpha machines). However, I need to be able
to use NFS mounts that are longer than that.

What do I have to do to increase that limit? I've searched
the list archives, but haven't found a useful answer.

I've also tried to change the MNAMELEN value in sys/mount.h
and recompile the system, but got panics right from the
start. So I guess my attempt was probably a bit naive, and
I forgot something important.

Any assistance would be very welcome -- thanks in advance!

Regards
   Oliver

PS: I'm using FreeBSD 4-stable.
