states 96 MiB of RAM and 1.5 GiB of disk as a minimum. It also 
recommends 2-4 GiB of RAM and at least 8 GiB of disk space for desktop 
systems. Servers might need more resources.

Maybe the OP should consider ZFS, as pooled storage coupled with 
quotas and reservations makes it at lot easier to manage disk space, 
and avoids falling into the old trap of creating a set of fixed sized 
disk partitions.
