As David O'Brien mentioned, it's best to ask on the SCSI list about SCSI stuff. In any case, the license on the driver for their Ultra-Wide controllers has not always been a BSD-style license. It used to have one file with a BSD-style license, one file with a proprietary license, and one file with no license. Thomas Graichen <graichen@innominate.de> has been working on getting both of Initio's drivers into FreeBSD. This may explain why Initio has fixed the copyright on their Ultra-Wide driver. (Their Ultra2 driver never had a copyright problem.) You may want to contact Thomas and see how things are going.
