Have you looked at this section in the FreeBSD FAQ?
"Full screen applications on remote machines misbehave"
It gives you a few options that might be more palatable, or at
least quicker to implement.
If you need how-to advice, we don't do support questions and answers
on freebsd-newbies, it's just for chat (see the list charters).
If you write to freebsd-questions instead, they'll give you
reliable advice. In particular, if there are some problems with
using pcvt that you should be aware of (as I suspect there may be),
someone there will know.
