well...  if you have multiple hard disks in your system, it isn't
hard to fix...  I'm about to do some testing of -current, and what
I'm going to do is us one of the 32meg partions on the other hard
drives as a -current boot, then I will just mount and symlink /usr
to the place that I've done the temporary install to...

then for -current testing I just boot the second hard drive.. and
if problems occure, I can just go back to normal booting...

note, this hasn't actually been attempted, so it's just an idea
that I have floating around...  and I plan on trying out this method
when I test out Justin's new CAM scsi code..
