I'm looking at adding 3 - 6 IDE drives in a RAID array (using vinum) to an existing server. As such, I'm going to have to add extra disk controllers to accommodate them. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for add-in PCI controllers in terms of driver compatibility (FreeBSD-4.4-STABLE), reliability and speed. As this is being done pretty much on the cheap and only to be shared amongst a household of 3 - 4 people, "real" IDE RAID controllers like the 3Ware cards are not an option - neitehr are the pseudo-RAID controllers. I'm only after opinions on standard, ATA-66/100 PCI cards. Cheers, CS To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
