'AR5416' came out as a lattest chip, which supports it + N ready +
supports 5ghz + supports hardware encription

Thank you Adrian

So you've said: 'AR9280'
It's only bug is:

baseband hangs?

Whatever it means. ;)

At which aspects is 'AR9280' inferior to 'AR9287'?

I've found cards bassed on it here:
http://www.wikidevi.com/wiki/Special:Ask?title=Special%3AAsk&q=%5B%5BChip1+model%3A%3AAR9280%5D%5D&po=%3FInterface%0D%0A%3FFCC+ID%0D%0A%3FVendor+ID%0D%0A%3FDevice+ID%0D%0A%3FSubvendor+ID%0D%0A%3FSubdevice+ID%0D%0A%3FChip1+model%0D%0A%3FSupported+802dot11+protocols%0D%0A%3FMIMO+status%0D%0A%3FOUI%0D%0A&sort_num=&order_num=ASC&eq=yes&p%5Bformat%5D=broadtable&p%5Blimit%5D=500&p%5Bsort%5D=&p%5Boffset%5D=&p%5Bheaders%5D=show&p%5Bmainlabel%5D=&p%5Blink%5D=all&p%5Bsearchlabel%5D=&p%5Bintro%5D=&p%5Boutro%5D=&p%5Bdefault%5D=&p%5Bclass%5D=sortable+wikitable+smwtable&eq=yes

None can be found in Croatia, so ...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atheros-AR9280-AR5BDT92-PCI-e-Desktop-Wi-Fi-WLAN-Card-/120705075663
Atheros AR9280 AR5BDT92 PCI-e Desktop Wi Fi WLAN Card

But as I have a Dell Latitude D830, with a FULL SIZE Mini PCIe Broadcom
card, which is unusable on FreeBSD
I've found this (SAME chip):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atheros-AR9280-AR5009-AR5BHB92-Half-Mini-PCIe-Wireless-WLAN-WIFI-Card-802-11-n-/120774611736
Atheros AR9280 AR5009 AR5BHB92 Half Mini PCIe Wireless WLAN WIFI Card
802.11 n

Would Dell's BIOS sabotage it as "not on the white list"?

Also would I really need this extension:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bracket-Intel-BroadCom-Atheros-Ralink-Realtek-Half-Mini-PCIe-WLAN-Card-Full-/140833618674
Bracket Half Mini PCIe WLAN Card to Full
