Well, 3-stable seems stable enough that I decided not to wait for 3.5, and upgraded a couple systems from 2.8-stable. Everything went fine with make upgrade, moving the libraries, etc. After I rebooted, however, all my passwords were invalid. I had to go to the console, boot in single-user mode to get in as root, and reset all the passwords. Any thoughts on what I missed? These boxes were both originally installed with DES... does a system after make upgrade use a different crypt?
