The only problem with this short delay so far was an undetected drive in an unusual configuration: The jumper block was defective and the drive could only be jumpered as slave. A 2s delay was too short to detect this drive without a master drive attached at the same bus. So in my case, there isn't even a speed improvement during boot. But I will soon test the new code on my laptop: The drive has problem if DMA is enabled. I hope the new code will give me some speed improvement in this case.
