i am trying to hack vmware to run under freebsd with a guest os of winxp on a raw disk on a thinkpad t40p. there is an issue with xp on the tp40p, an acpi hal.dll. so i useed an xp cdrom from another system to get the right dll, at which i was was successful, and then follow the instructions on <http://www.vmware.com/support/ws3/doc/ws32_disks8.html#1009931>. [ of course, as i am xp not 2k, i have do use c:\windows\system32, not c:\winnt\system32. but i figured that out. ] but, when it comes to the bit that has me modify c:\boot.ini, well i just ain't got none, ain't none nowhere on the disk, nohow. so what in xp's version of this hack? anybody been here before? randyhome | help
