[-- Attachment #1 --] "Starting standard daemons: inted cron sshd usbd sendmail" The boot process hangs at this point for almost five minutes before moving to the user sign-in. At this point, the system seems to operate normally. I've reloaded the system twice on my harddrive, following a DOS fdisk to remove any previous data installed on the FBSD slice. No change. I install the OS, all of the packages;as well as, X 4.x and bash from the ports collection. I install X 4.x, because "The FreeBSD Hand Book" states this version of X is required to support a VooDoo 5 card using a glide driver. I installed the bash shell, because it stated this shell is best for new Unix users. I apologize for all the rhetoric. How do you suggest I determine the cause of the system hang during the boot? I tried to search for information, but my results kept sending me to man pages. Your help will be greatly appreciated. ShawnGet more from the Web.
