I sent this to the list earlier today but didn't see it come back. A thousand pardons if it shows up as a dupe, but I remained puzzled. ----- Forwarded message from Bob Bernstein <bobbern@delphi.com> ----- Date: Wed, 15 Mar 2000 14:45:54 -0500 From: Bob Bernstein <bobbern@delphi.com> To: freebsd-small@bsd.org Subject: update Mail-Followup-To: freebsd-small@bsd.org X-Mailer: Mutt 0.95.6i I've made a version of the 'net' flavor of picobsd that includes ee. After editing a file with it (using /etc/motd for a guinea pig), saving the file, running 'sh update' and rebooting, the changes have not "taken." If I then reboot fbsd from the HD, mount the floppy and examine the contents of /etc, I find I have two versions of each file, one gzipped and one not gzipped. My changes are in the not-gzipped version of motd. I could use a clue here. <g> -- Bob Bernstein | The human race has one really effective weapon, at | and that is laughter. -- Mark Twain Esmond, R.I. | USA | ----- End forwarded message ----- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message
