Does that mean the file isn't copied at all, or=20 > is it copied with the mtime preserved (and thus changes the ctime)? >=20 There used to be a bug. It is fixed in 5.0-CURRENT: : -C Copy the file. If the target file already exists and the files : are the same, then don't change the modification time of the tar- : get. If the target's file flags and mode need not to be changed, : the target's inode change time is also unchanged. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Cheers, --=20 Ruslan Ermilov Sysadmin and DBA, ru@sunbay.com Sunbay Software AG, ru@FreeBSD.org FreeBSD committer, +380.652.512.251 Simferopol, Ukraine http://www.FreeBSD.org The Power To Serve http://www.oracle.com Enabling The Information Age --TYecfFk8j8mZq+dy Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE+jenrUkv4P6juNwoRApamAJ9/sjQ5EBmYSMu4RnXpwqPTa6baQACfd5W6 SRot8VDMqCrnv+hwf2fkAKM= =0abA -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --TYecfFk8j8mZq+dy--
