Just another quick update: I've now completely disabled the broken device, disconnecting it completely from the system. The system now boots and shuts down just fine with a world/kernel updated and built yesterday (Saturday, June 5), and the DVD-ROM on acd0 is working just fine. I may go buy a replacement for the burner later today, if I can find anything around here that I like. We'll see. Anyway, it looks like the current ata/atapi/atapicam code is fine. Just wanted to let you know, Soren. -- Conrad Sabatier <conrads@cox.net> - "In Unix veritas"
