Hello, The current port of gphoto2 does not work with the Canon Powershot S45 (although its listed as supported) because of a bug that does not allow files to be downloaded from the camera. According to the gphoto2 mailing lists the bug was fixed after the port was released. Unfortunately, there has not been a new gphoto2 release for nearly 5 months (and so the port is quite old as well). Subsequently I have tried to compile gphoto2 from cvs with no success. I can get it to compile, but when I run it I get I/O errors eventhough I have the latest libusb. When I compile from the port I can see the camera and get all of its --summary and such, I just can't get anything off of it. So, I feel confident that libusb is working and that I'm just doing something wrong during my compile of the cvs. My question: Has anybody successfully compiled and used the latest cvs of gphoto2/libgphoto2 under FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE, and if so, would you be willing to outline what you did to get things working? Thanks, Alex
