OK, I am looking at the FreeBSD-4 source tree for KAME and found this: http://orange.kame.net/dev/cvsweb.cgi/kame/freebsd4/sys/sys/mbuf.h.diff?r1=1.18&r2=1.19 CVS comment: "sctp for freebsd4 - again, not ready for daily use yet" It looks like M_NOTIFICATION was added specifically for SCTP.
