Just to have this in the archive somewhere, regarding the install of Netscape from ftp.netscape.com. First, the proper way to install Netscape is to use the port/package system; which probably has the right dependencies to get things installed. But, if you're like me and simply grabbed the Netscape files from ftp.netscape.com you will need to install the XFree86 3.3.3 aout package. The compat22 (and other compat distributions) contain the C libraries, etc... but, there are no X11 libraries. Simply use pkg_add to install the XFree86 aout package, and *poof* Netscape will work. - Thanks for everyone's assist - - Dave Rivers - -- rivers@dignus.com Work: (919) 676-0847 Get your mainframe (370) `C' compiler at http://www.dignus.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
