I think the new fbsdboot sample you sent me has a good chance of
totally confusing viruses and TSRs. :)

Well, that's the "yuk" approach; we could also take the "yum" approach:

I'm pretty sure there are better solutions.  If this isn't a demo,
I just don't have a very clear idea what we're aiming at, only what
to avoid.
